Sea Life Park Hawaii Educational Programs



Aloha! Located within the park’s installations, our Education Department offers a wide variety of field trips designed to make learning fun.

Our unique classroom, and the natural beauty of the park environment, let students experience Hawaiian sea life like never before. They’ll learn about the ocean’s rich marine ecosystem, its inhabitants, as well as conservation efforts. And lessons are delivered in bold, interactive, entertaining, and exciting ways!

Educational Programs

Field Trip Programs


Our field trips include admission to the park and a 30–minute workshop on the topic of your choice. These Sea Life Park field trips can include a hands-on experience with the animals in our park!

Self–Guided Field Trips


The self–guided educational field trip option includes group admission rates, access to the Sea Life Park’s scheduled shows, and trainer habitat talks.

Outreach Programs


Our education staff can come to your site and deliver an educational program tailored to the topic you’re most interested in. Students will learn about animal characteristics, behaviors, and the importance of conservation and preservation.

Elementary School Programs (Pre–K – 6th Grade)


hawaii dolphins programs Bottlenose Dolphin Basics
Children will learn about Atlantic and Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins, their physical and mammalian characteristics, and the different environments they live in. Program includes a visit to our Hawaiian Ocean Theater with an instructor. Educational content includes:
  • Mammalian and dolphin characteristics
  • "Flipper" myths
  • Differences between Atlantic and Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins
  • Conservation

Children will learn about the variety of fish that live in Hawaiian waters and how they are able to survive in complex underwater environments. Program includes a visit to the park’s Reef Tank with our instructor. Educational content includes:

Children will learn about the fascinating characteristics of seals and sea lions, their physical and mammalian attributes, their ability to live on land and in the water, and the different environments they thrive in. Program includes a visit to our sea lion and monk seal pools with our instructor. Educational content includes:

  • Seal and sea lion habitats
  • Feeding techniques

Children will learn about the unique characteristics of a variety of starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and brittle stars, and how these spineless sea creatures live in different environments. Program includes a visit to our Touch Tank with an instructor. Educational content includes:

Children will learn about the distinct characteristics of the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle and what it symbolizes in Hawaiian culture. Program features a visit to our sea turtle habitat to feed the turtles with an instructor. Educational content includes:

  • Differences between land turtles and sea turtles
  • Hawaiian Honu culture
  • Green Sea Turtle nesting and egg hatching

Children will learn about the characteristics of seabirds and penguins, how they are different, what they have in common, and the environment in which they live. Program features a visit to our seabird sanctuary and penguin habitat with an instructor. Educational content includes:
