Sea Life Park Hawaii Educational Programs

Aloha! Located within the park’s installations, our Education Department offers a wide variety of field trips designed to make learning fun.

Our unique classroom, and the natural beauty of the park environment, lets students experience Hawaiian sea life like never before. They’ll learn about the ocean’s rich marine ecosystem, its inhabitants, as well as conservation efforts. And lessons are delivered in bold, interactive, entertaining, and exciting ways!

Education Field Trip Programs

Our field trips include admission to the park and a 30–minute program on the topic of your choice. These Sea Life Park field trips may include an up close look at some of our animals and maybe even some hands-on experience!

Self–Guided Field Trips

The self–guided educational field trip option includes group admission rates, access to the Sea Life Park’s regularly scheduled shows and events.

Outreach Programs

Our education staff can come to your site and deliver an educational program tailored to the topic you’re most interested in. Students will learn about animal characteristics, behaviors, and the importance of conservation and preservation.

Elementary School Programs (Pre–K – 6th Grade)

	Bottlenose Dolphin Basics Children will learn about Bottlenose Dolphins, their physical and mammalian characteristics, and the different environments they live in. Program includes a trainer talk at our Hawaiian Ocean Theater. Educational content includes: Mammalian and dolphin characteristics Differences between Atlantic and Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins Differences between Sea Life Park Hawaii’s wholphin and bottlenose dolphins Conservation
	Radical Reef Fish Children will learn about the variety of fish that live in Hawaiian waters and how they are able to survive in complex underwater environments. Program includes a visit to the park’s Reef Tank with our instructor. Educational content includes: Fish characteristics Fish anatomy Predators Conservation
	Simply Seals and Sea Lions Children will learn about the fascinating characteristics of seals and sea lions, their physical and mammalian attributes and their ability to live on land and in the water. Program includes a visit to our sea lion or monk seal pool with our instructor. Educational content includes: Mammalian characteristics Differences between Seals and Sea Lions Conservation
	Sea Stars and their Cousins Children will learn about the unique characteristics of a variety of starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and brittle stars, and how these spineless sea creatures live in different environments. Program includes a visit to our Touch Pool with an instructor. Educational content includes: Star fish ⁄ sea urchin ⁄ sea cucumber ⁄ brittle star and invertebrate characteristics Diet Predators Conservation
	Hawaiian Honu Children will learn about the distinct characteristics of the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle and the differences between sea turtles and land turtles. Program features a visit to our sea turtle habitat with an instructor. Educational content includes: Reptile and sea turtle characteristics Differences between land turtles and sea turtles Green Sea Turtle life cycle Conservation
	Penguins and Seabirds Children will learn about the characteristics of seabirds and penguins, how they are different, what they have in common, and the environment in which they live. Program features a visit to our seabird sanctuary and penguin habitat with an instructor.
