WAIMĀNALO (December 14, 2017) — Sea Life Park invites guests to an all-new lūʻau experience—Ka Moana (“the Ocean”)— premiering January 2, 2018. The show is to become the park’s ongoing and exclusive lūʻau offering, working with Malu Productions. Ka Moana, a celebration of authentic lūʻau, will be held at the park’s majestic Makapuʻu Meadows.
“With a new year ahead, it is the perfect time to reveal the aptly named Ka Moana,” said Valerie King, Sea Life Park’s general manager. “We look forward to providing guests with an unforgettable show that honors the spirit of lūʻau tradition, gathering both kama‘aina and visitors alike for a special `ohana experience.”
“We look forward to providing guests with an unforgettable show that honors the spirit of lūʻau tradition, gathering both kama‘aina and visitors alike for a special `ohana experience.”
“We are delighted to partner with Sea Life Park to produce Ka Moana, and bring our exceptional team of performers to this stunning setting where the Ko`olau mountain meets the moana,” said Michelle Malulani Kama, co-owner of Malu Productions. “It was important to us to incorporate inspirations from the ahupua`a of Waimānalo throughout the program and create an evening that embraces these unique surroundings.”
The lūʻau will additionally feature a food selection bountiful with fresh, locally sourced products and traditional flavors, working closely with farmers and partners in the Waimānalo community for the finest ingredients that offer a taste of the islands.
The Ka Moana lūʻau will take place nightly with the exception of Thursdays and Saturdays. Select lūʻau packages will also offer guests an opportunity to enjoy all of Sea Life Park, either just prior to the show, or on another visit within 7 days of purchase. Ka Moana begins at 5:30 p.m. Information on the packages and pricing options will be available at moanaluau.com, and guests can make their purchases online or by calling (808) 926-3800.
